Split Facility
These days most lending institutions allow you to ‘split’ your home loan into two or more components. When and why you would do this is personal and subject to many factors. Some circumstances might be people who wish to hedge their bets against fluctuations in interest rates and take a portion fixed and the balance at a variable rate. Others, who perhaps like to invest in shares or need to raise funds at short notice under a ‘come and go’ arrangement, may include an equity loan or line of credit in their split of products.
