About MFAA
The Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) was established in 1980 and is the peak industry body for mortgage professionals. The MFAA works to promote and maintain the highest standards of professional and ethical behaviour.
MFAA members are certified and committed to providing appropriate and helpful financial assistance. Some characteristics of MFAA members are:
Experience - individuals must have at least two years' relevant industry experience or a minimum standard of education.
Education - members must meet education requirements including ongoing training and professional development.
Accreditation - MFAA accreditation means Accredited Mortgage Consultants and Certified Mortgage Consultants have met high standards of expertise.
Integrity - individuals must adhere to an industry Code of Practice.
Dispute resolution - members must belong to an external dispute resolution service. The Home Loan Shop consultants are members of the Credit Ombudsman Service Limited (external website) and we have our own Complaints Officer.
